"The story behind Helena Chocolatier"

Helena Chocolatier

Crafted in Peru since 1975

Some of the most beautiful stories begin in the quietest kitchens.

In the coastal city of Ica, Peru, Elena Soler began crafting chocolates by hand for family and friends. What started as a gesture of love soon became something much greater.

Encouraged by the extraordinary response to her creations, Elena founded Helena Chocolatier in 1975, building a brand rooted in craftsmanship, patience, and the joy of sharing chocolate.

The Aroma That Started Everything

One day Elena had the opportunity to learn the artisan technique of toffee making from Mrs. Santana.

As caramel slowly melted and filled the kitchen with its warm aroma, something magical happened.

That aroma of caramel would change Elena’s life forever.

That moment ignited the dream that would later become Helena Chocolatier.

The First Creations

Elena began preparing dozens of toffees by hand.

Using a small knife, she carefully cut each piece and placed them into simple aluminum boxes.

Each box carried a small sticker — the earliest symbol of what would later become Helena Chocolatier.

Friends and neighbors quickly fell in love with the extraordinary flavor of her creations.

A Sweet Love Story

Elena and Jorge shared not only a life together, but also the dream of building something meaningful.

With dedication, patience, and passion, they transformed a family tradition into a growing chocolate legacy.

Recognition and Tradition

Over the years Helena Chocolatier gained recognition throughout Peru for its artisanal craftsmanship and authentic flavors.

Renowned chef Gastón Acurio praised the dedication and authenticity behind Helena’s chocolates, highlighting their connection to Peru’s rich culinary heritage.

A Family Legacy

What began as Elena’s passion slowly became a family tradition.

Today Helena Chocolatier continues crafting its chocolates with the same care, dedication, and respect for tradition that began in Ica more than five decades ago.

What began as a gesture of love slowly became a chocolate legacy.

Signature Creations

Among Helena’s most beloved creations are the Tejas and Chocoteja bonbons, inspired by traditional Peruvian confections.

Each piece is handcrafted with nuts, fruits, dulce de leche, and fine chocolate — a unique expression of Peru’s rich dessert tradition.

From Peru to the World

Helena Chocolatier has proudly shared its creations with chocolate lovers around the world.

For many years Helena’s Chocoteja bonbons were part of the American Airlines First Class experience, delighting travelers at 35,000 feet.

For us, chocolate has never been just a confection.

It is a gesture of love.

A moment of joy.

A tradition shared across generations.
